China Aviation Industry Conference

Nautilus Asia Pacific held a conference on March 26, 2008 in Wichita, Kansas for Aviation Industry Executives to learn about opportunities to grow their business in the Commercial Aviation marketplace in China.

The conference featured a delegation from China led by the Chairman of the Tianjin Aviation Supply Chain Development Committee, Mr. William Wei, who is also the Vice President of the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee. As Chairman, Mr. Wei oversees the development of the aviation manufacturing supply base to service the aviation marketplace in China including the new Airbus A320 Final Assembly Line Project currently being built in Tianjin, China.

Due to the tremendous growth experienced in Aviation in China, driven by China’s economic boom, the government has made a strategic decision to address the shortage of aircraft, airports, skilled resources (pilots, technicians, air-traffic controllers, etc) and manufacturing capability. One of the cornerstone projects is the Airbus JV located within the Tianjin Aviation Industrial Park. We believe that this project presents excellent opportunities for new business for US aviation component manufacturers and service companies in China.

According to government projections, the growth rate in China’s Aviation Industry is expected to lead the world at 9%, making China the largest commercial aircraft market in the world next to the US over the next 20 years. The benefit to the North American aviation industry is the opportunity to sell US manufactured aviation products and related services to China thereby creating jobs and driving profits in the US.

Welcome Letter from Kansas World Trade Center

March 26, 2008

Mr. William Wei
Chairman, Tianjin Aviation Supply Chain Development Committee
Vice President, Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee

Dear Mr. Wei:

On behalf of the staff and Board of the Kansas World Trade Center, welcome to the city of Wichita and to Kansas.  We are happy that you are here.

For over 25 years, Kansas individual and corporate residents have sought to develop & grow relationships with our many friends from China.  During this time, many trade missions to China have been organized and led by our government leaders; many executives, students and professors have exchanged name cards, ideas, and products; and we have been honored by many distinguished guests from Chinese government and industry.  As one indication of the success building relationships bring, China is Kansas’ 5th largest export destination.

For this occasion, we are pleased that the aviation industry is in focus.  As China's economy continues to grows in size and sophistication, so will her aviation industry, and thus the opportunities for her citizens.  We are thankful that today you have included the Wichita aviation industry in consideration as a viable partner in your endeavors.

I believe you will find that the Wichita aviation industry is one of the best in the world.  And I know that you will find executives and employees of our companies to be hard working, intelligent, respectful and kind – all attributes of Kansas residents and our many Chinese friends.

Again, thank you for being here today and for providing an opportunity for Kansas companies to avail themselves of the growth of the aviation industry in Tianjin, China.  May your stay here be both pleasant and productive.

Best regards,

Karyn Page, President/CEO
